The procedure for gig bookings for promoters/bands is as follows.

STEP - 1

EMAIL US- here at the pub, to check availability for the date you want for your gig. Please check the GIG GIUDE section of our website prior to doing so as the date you want may already be taken. Please put the date you want in the subject field of your email.

STEP - 2

We will let you know within three working days of your email whether your requested date is available and you then have one week to pay the deposit, during which time the date will be held pending receipt. Your deposit may no longer be paid at the pub – it must be sent it to the address below.

STEP - 3

Deposits must be for the full cost of the gig and will not be refunded if the gig is cancelled within one month of the gig date. The gig wil only be confirmed and advertised on our website once the deposit has been paid!

STEP - 4

When sending in your deposit, please let us know the names of the bands performing, what type of music and what you will be charging at the door, also send us digital & printed flyers for your gig, plus any Myspace or website links to the bands playing, as well as short bios on the bands, along any bands logos for our website advertising.

PLEASE NOTE:

GIG OVERRUNS:

Gigs going on longer then 11.00 pm will cost an additional £10 per hour or part thereof, payable to the sound engineer on the night. If you want your gig to run after 11pm, please email us at the time of booking to arrange this. For the avoidance of doubt, the PA system will be switched off at 11pm unless the sound engineer is paid in advance of this time.

All nights are strictly over 18's. Anyone under 18 (band member or customer) found on the premises will be ejected. You have been warned.

SUPPORT SLOTS:

If you would like your band to get a slot at a forthcoming gig then visit our MESSAGE BOARD and tell us a little about your band, where you are based, your genre and influences and who you sound like and how many people you will pull in. We will then contact you when the most appropriate opportunity for your band arises. Please note that the majority of gigs at the Old Angel are booked by external promoters and the lineup for such gigs is not in our control.

If you see a band on the MESSAGE BOARD who you would like to play with then make contact with them. When you have made contact and have some dates that work for both of you then drop us an email at The Old Angel – we are more likely to put you on if you bring us two or three bands who just need a headline act and are ready to go. We might even give you a case of beer for your trouble, particularly if you make some flyers and help out promoting the night…..

VENUE ACCESS:

When you have hired the venue for the evening, it is your responsibility to collect money on the door of the gig room and to deny access to non-payers. Please note that staff at The Old Angel will need to enter the gig room from time to time to collect glasses, clean up spillages etc etc and they will also enter the gig room from time to time to ensure that everything is in order and to listen to a band playing – either for the purposes of The Old Angel booking the band directly in future or simply because they might like the music. Old Angel staff will be entitled to access the gig room at any time without payment once identified as staff by the manager on duty. All out staff are pictured/listed elsewhere on this site for your reference – please don’t make their jobs more difficult by appointing overzealous door minders/ticket collectors who stop them doing their jobs and create easily avoidable ‘situations’.

ONLINE TICKETS VIA TICKETWEB ICON:

We can help you sell tickets for your gig by listing the gig on Ticketweb for you - free of charge. If this is of interest, then once your gig is booked with the pub and your deposit has been paid, email the pub all the following information and we will get the tickets listed nationally on Ticketweb.

We need to know: band names, times of doors/performance, cost of tickets, genre of music and how many tickets you want sold online. (Our capacity is 110 persons so if you know you have 20 on your guest list, we should be told to sell up to 90 tickets). Online ticket sales will usually be available up to mid-day on the day of the gig. For Saturday and Sunday gigs, online sales will be terminated on the Friday.

You also need to let us know the name of the person who will be collecting the funds from the pub on the day of the gig, If we don’t know you well, you will need to provide ID confirming who you are. We will then pay the nominated person in cash, the full face value of any tickets sold online via Ticketweb.

Please note that the money from Ticketweb sales will not under any circumstances be provided to any promoter/bands prior to the evening of the gig. Money will be passed over only on the night of the gig (immediately prior/during/after the performance) and only once we are satisfied that the gig is going ahead as advertised. This is to prevent unscrupulous people selling tickets via us on Ticketweb, collecting cash from us and then cancelling the gig.
